Dear colleague
Hopefully you will be aware of the recent publications that found that nearly two thirds of women surgeons in the NHS said that they had been the target of sexual harassment in the last 5 years. This is truly shocking and is not something we should tolerate or accept in any form.
At UHL, we have made a clear commitment to eradicate all forms of this behaviour and provide better support to colleagues and patients who have been subject to inappropriate behaviour.
The attached letter written jointly by Dr Kath Higgins, Miss Kirsten Boyle and Dr Clare Collins, shares further details of the commitments that UHL has made in relation to sexual safety for all staff and to inappropriate behaviours including sexual assault.
I wanted to share this important communication with all medical and dental colleagues and express my strong support for the messages contained within this letter.
