Alozie Eze, who works at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, has been spending some time with Dr Amy Webster and our Haematology team over the last few weeks. He has been especially interested in our Sickle Cell screening. This is because Sickle Cell is fairly prominent in Nigeria with around 25% of adults in the country having the sickle cell trait. Alozie and Amy are hoping to form a partnership between the hospitals to share knowledge and information. Alozie will take what he has learnt at Leicester’s Hospitals back to Nigeria.
