Nominations now open for 2020 UHL Medical Educator Awards

We are pleased to announce the launch of the UHL Medical Educator Awards 2020. These awards recognise excellence in medical education and the following award categories are now open:

* Self nominations are only acceptable for the Innovation in Education and Training award

Senior Awards   Consultants/SAS  
Most supportive UHL Supervisor (Consultant or SAS) Consistently providing outstanding support to junior doctors during postgraduate training/ clinical placements
Outstanding Clinical Teacher Consistently providing excellent teaching for medical students on placement in UHL
Most inspiring role model Supports and inspires junior doctors/medical students to achieve their best whilst working in UHL
Outstanding contribution to training

 

A senior doctor who has made an outstanding contribution to training in any form
Junior Awards   Trainees/ LEDs  
Rising star/most promising teacher Consistently providing outstanding teaching to other junior doctors during postgraduate training/clinical placements
Most inspiring role model

 

Supports and inspires trainees/LEDs/ medical students to achieve their best whilst working in UHL
Outstanding contribution to training

 

A junior doctor who you feel has made an outstanding contribution to training in any form

Education Team A group of individuals within a clinical area who provide and promote a high quality environment for medical education

UHL Award for Innovation in Education and Training* Locally developed innovation/interventions for education (self-nominations are accepted for this category)

The provision of medical education involves a wide range of professions and, recognising this, nominations are welcomed from all UHL staff.

The nomination process will be open until Thursday 2nd July 2020 and the following should noted:

  • Anonymous and self-nominations* will not be accepted
  • Winners of awards in 2019 will not be eligible to win the same category in 2020
  • The text used to nominate an individual/team will be used in the voting process so include enough detail to promote your nominee
  • The name of the nominator will not be shared with the nominee
  • You may nominate for more than once- use the button at the end of the online form to submit another nomination.

 

* Self nominations are only acceptable for the Innovation in Education and Training award

Voting for award winners will open shortly after the nomination process closes and winners will be announced in September.
